Katherine Heigl reveals that she grew up in a bubble of white and how this experience impacted how she cared for her adoptive multiracial children. Katherine Heigl, the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" star shared in an interview recently that in regards to skin tone, it wasn't a factor for her the way she looked, but after she spoke with her older sister whom she taken in from South Korea, she realized that society was different when it came to the two of both. I inquired of Meg whether, while going out with her parents she was treated with a specific manner and when out alone, she was treated with a totally different treatment. She said, 'Oh, sure, I was treated the same way all the time!' Heigl told her parents it made her realize just the extent of her ignorance. She said that she was mad and felt that she had to channel this anger to assist her daughters. Heigl along with her long-time husband -- the singer Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), a daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in 2012.
